As I start this post I am feeling sentimental (I’m warning you right now I am going to get a little “sappy”). I can’t help but become attached to my clients. After standing in front of a family with a camera in your hand, then prompting genuine emotion and connection from them, I fall a little in love with that family. A family photo session can feel a little awkward because I am asking them to let me into their personal relationship for a moment. My goal is to capture their family at that particular time in their life, creating a family heirloom not a snap shot. This is where my heart is.
Families are beautiful !! (especially this one)
We were little girls when I first met this beautiful young women, we grew up as friends.
As the years went by we did not keep in touch, our lives kept us busy (warning sentimental part coming up). When we were kids we often wondered what God had planned for our lives. We dreamed of having families and careers. It is funny how things don’t always go as we dream they will. But, as I go through these photos I find myself in tears, I know I am where God wants me to be. It is truly a blessing and an honor to capture my friends in this way on camera. I say that a lot, but it is sooooo true.
My heart is in this, photography is not just an art, or a hobby, or a way to make money. It is celebrating families and children. Raising a family is hard work, take the time to create a memory save that moment when you are all happy, preserve it! It is worth the effort.
